- Jackson Json-processor (Utility)
library to work with
JSON: read, write, convert and more.
- FasterXML (Utility)
a fast and compliant streaming JSON parser/writer with a StAX-like API and support for marshalling/unmarshalling POJOs via annotations.
- Android Support v4 (Development Framework)
The Android Support Library is not actually a single library, but rather a collection of libraries that can roughly be divided into two groups: compatibility and component libraries. For details, please see
Understanding the Android Support Library.
- AndroidX Activity (Utility)
provides the base Activity subclass and the relevant hooks to build a composable structure on top.
- Android Jetpack Annotations (Utility)
library that contains the annotations for Android Jetpack.
- AppCompat (Utility)
support newer Android features on older Android versions.
- Constraint Layout Library (Utility)
library to reduce the number of nested views needed.
- Coordinatorlayout (UI Component)
AndroidX library to position top-level application widgets, such as AppBarLayout and FloatingActionButton.
- Androidx Core (Utility)
a static library that you can add to your Android application in order to use APIs that are either not available for older platform versions or utility APIs that aren't a part of the framework APIs.
- Databinding (Utility)
bind UI components in your layouts to data sources in your app using a declarative format.
- Android Emoji2 Compat (UI Component)
core library to enable emoji compatibility in Kitkat and newer devices to avoid the empty emoji characters.
- AndroidX Fragment (UI Component)
AndroidX library to encapsulate part of the user interface or behavior into reusable components.
- Lifecycle (Utility)
perform actions in response to a change in the lifecycle status of another component, such as activities and fragments.
- Loader (Utility)
library to load data for your UI that survives configuration changes.
- Media (Utility)
share media contents and controls with other apps.
- Navigation (Utility)
a framework for navigating between 'destinations' within an Android application that provides a consistent API whether destinations are implemented as Fragments, Activities, or other components.
- Preference (Utility)
a library to build interactive settings screens without needing to interact with device storage or manage the UI.
- Recyclerview (Utility)
display large sets of data in your UI while minimizing memory usage.
- Android Activity Saved State (Utility)
provides the base Activity subclass and the relevant hooks to build a composable structure on top.
- Startup (Utility)
AndroidX library to implement a straightforward, performant way to initialize components at app startup.
- Vectordrawable (UI Component)
AndroidX library to render vector graphics.
- Android Jetpack VersionedParcelable (Utility)
Provides a stable but relatively compact binary serialization format that can be passed across processes or persisted safely.
- AndroidX Widget ViewPager2 (UI Component)
replaces AndroidX ViewPager, addressing most of its predecessor’s pain-points, including right-to-left layout support, vertical orientation, modifiable Fragment collections, etc.
- Webkit (Utility)
a static library to use android.webkit APIs that are not available for older platform versions.
- Jetpack WindowManager Library (Utility)
enables application developers to support new device form factors and multi-window environments. The library provides a common API surface for API versions 14 and later. Especially provides additional functionality on foldable devices.
- Volley HTTP library (Utility)
an HTTP library that makes networking for Android apps easier and most importantly, faster.
- Google Cast© (Utility)
a proprietary protocol developed by Google that enables mobile devices and personal computers to initiate and control playback of Internet-streamed audio/video content on a compatible device (see
Wikipedia for details).
- Google Maps API©Ⓝ (Map)
API to automatically handle access to Google Maps servers, data downloading, map display, and response to map gestures.
- Google Mobile Services© (Development Framework)
Google Mobile Services in terms of the Android library refers to
Google Play Services, a proprietary background service and API package for Android devices which is
not part of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). The library does not contain those services (i.e. it usually requires the Google Framework, often referred to as „GApps“, being installed on the device), but allows an app to communicate with them. Be aware this usually goes along with transferring at least parts of your personal data to the Google network.
- Google Material Design (Utility)
library to help with material design guidelines.
- Wire Protocol Buffers (Utility)
library that deals with Protocol Buffers (a.k.a., protobuf) – Google's language-neutral, platform-neutral, extensible mechanism for serializing structured data.
- CircleImageView (UI Component)
circular ImageView for Android (displays images in circles, like „heads-up“).
- Kotlin (Utility)
The Kotlin Programming Language
- kotlinx.coroutines (Utility)
library support for Kotlin coroutines.
- Chromium Build (Utility)
Chromium's Core GN templates and configuration as well as Core Python build scripts.
- Webkit Boundary Interfaces (Utility)
Chromium WebView helpers
- Conscrypt (Utility)
a Java Security Provider (JSP) that implements parts of the Java Cryptography Extension (JCE) and Java Secure Socket Extension (JSSE). It uses BoringSSL to provide cryptographic primitives and Transport Layer Security (TLS) for Java applications on Android and OpenJDK.
- Mediarouter (Utility)
AndroidX library to enable media display and playback on remote receiver devices using a common user interface.
- microG GmsCore (Development Framework)
a FLOSS (Free/Libre Open Source Software) framework to allow applications designed for Google Play Services to run on systems, where Play Services is not available.
- ChromeCast Java API v2 (Utility)
a Java implementation of ChromeCast V2 protocol client.
