OSS‑Dict is a fast, privacy-friendly offline dictionary reader — a modern fork of Aard 2 with Material design and enhanced features for comfortable reading and lookup.

Why OSS‑Dict? OSS‑Dict is designed to work entirely offline — your dictionaries stay on your device for fast lookups and better privacy. It’s lightweight, configurable, and ideal for travelers, students, and anyone who needs reliable dictionary access without an internet connection.

Network access The app requests the INTERNET permission for internal use by the built-in renderer and to open external links. This permission is not required for core dictionary lookups — the app functions offline with local dictionary files.

Open source OSS‑Dict is open source and available on GitHub. Contributions, bug reports and feature requests are welcome.

Get started Install or import your offline dictionaries, customize the look with CSS if you like, and start searching — fast and offline.

Hint: This app is available in both, F-Droid Main and IzzyOnDroid repos.
